People aren't that concerned about correcting things unless they try to do it better which fails more often than not.

I think it's the overabundance of remakes that has been sullying the concept of remakes themselves. Some co-workers of mine have been complaining about the lack of originality because of all these remakes already done and the ones being filmed now. There's a good chance of people trying to correct those pitfalls, but I don't see a lot of people taking that chance.Curtis M.http://cmbbwrites.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7905416493038831261.post-40688760857179198682018-04-07T22:51:28.449-05:002018-04-07T22:51:28.449-05:00Remakes correcting the issues of their predecessor...Remakes correcting the issues of their predecessors is sure few and far-between! Though I'd definitely hold up Spider-man: Homecoming as an example, as you saw. It's not perfect, but it does a really good job learning from some of the pitfalls of Spider-men that came before.

It's really unfortunate that the remake has such a bad reputation these days, as it could absolutely be used to correct things as terrible as plot holes or unfortunate implications or even pacing issues of former iterations. You've got a chance to wipe the slate clean and do it better--why not take that chance?Jeannette Jonichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16223040243180418535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7905416493038831261.post-37685986607155921592018-03-30T10:41:02.201-05:002018-03-30T10:41:02.201-05:00I do agree that remakes can be tough. You make som...I do agree that remakes can be tough. You make some great points especially the whole Star Wars issue. That's just cheap whenever I see franchises do that. It reminds me of a running gag in the comedy anime Cromartie High School where the main character says "If you want to find out more, then just read the manga" for some of the jokes which in itself was parodying whenever adaptations leave stuff out. Remakes especially now can be so manipulative when it comes to preying on nostalgia. I also wonder if remakes (while doing some new things) can be used to correct stuff from the older movies like fixing plot holes or stopping unfortunate implications from the previous incarnations. Personally, I haven't been too impressed with remakes (mainstream or independent) even if some are decently made.Curtis M.http://cmbbwrites.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
